đź’ˇGoal: to help our hackers with their projects!
Roles
👥 React in the #mentor-roles channel to get specific Discord roles related to your proficiencies. This will help hackers with “pinging” the right mentors when they need help.
Example of “pinging” the @sweccathon-mentor role:

Note: we ask hackers not to ping the mentor role to avoid pinging unnecessarily.
Help
💬 Our #help-thon channel on Discord is the hackers’ go-to place for seeking help. As mentioned, our members will add a “ping” with the specific topic they’re stuck with, so that they can get the right mentor(s) to help. Try to monitor it during your free time, and if you feel that you are the appropriate mentor for their question, reach out ASAP!
🗣️ Students can also schedule a time on your Calendly link for more synchronous/1-1 help (more details in the section below). Or if you want a spontaneous place to call, use our sweccathon-voice voice channel!
Calendly
- Go to https://calendly.com/ and create an account.
- On your dashboard, click on the “+ New Event Type” button to create a link. Use the “one-on-one” type.
- Modify the settings for your link, like the schedule and time. We recommend the following settings:
- ⏱️ Duration: 30 mins
- 📍 Location: Any online link (Google Meets, Zoom, etc.).
- 🗓️ Date Range: April 23 - April 29. Use “Within a date range” under the Availability heading to toggle this.
- 🕜 Schedule: This is more subjective. We recommend evenings for weekdays (e.g. 5 pm - 10 pm) and the whole day for weekends (e.g. 10 am - 10 pm). However, feel free to block off specific times on your calendar when you know you’ll be busy, and feel free to add other available times as well! Make sure that the hours are between the hackathon opening and closing ceremonies.
- Share that link in the Notion mentorship form (https://www.notion.so/exiao/1d783ba9ece78022b188ff2d21999953?pvs=106).
